Total Lunar Eclipse, 5 May 2004

On May 5, 2004 there was a total lunar eclipse visible from Australia, Asia and Europe. This page contains eclipse photo's from that day (or night as the case may be), as viewed from Perth, Western Australia.

Photographing lunar eclipses is somewhat of a tricky procedure. Usually the camera will not meter the light correctly, there will be extreme brightness differences between the shaddow part of the moon and the lit part of the moon, and the period of totality especially can vary significantly in brightness between eclipses. Now doesn't that sound like a fun photographic challenge!
