Comet Lovejoy
In December 2011 Terry Lovejoy of Australia discovered a comet,
a comet which turned out to be one of the brightest and best of
recent years. During December 2011 Comet Lovejoy put on a
spectacular show in the early hours before sunrise. We have
several photographs of Comet Lovejoy available, the most

Total Lunar
Eclipse of December 2011 On the 10th December 2011
there was a Total Lunar Eclipse visible from Australia, Asia and
all the way across to parts of Europe. We spent the night
photographing the event and have some great photographs as a
result. The winner is the
Totality with
Stars, an improvement on the previous attempt in June. |

Eclipse of June 2011 On the 16th June 2011 there was
a Total Lunar Eclipse visible from much of Australasia and
partially visible in Europe. We have two spectacular photographs

Pleiades and
Moon Occultation/Conjunction On 15th January 2011
the Pleiades and The Moon came together for one night in
very close alignment to each other, with the Moon passing in
front of some of the fainter stars of the open cluster Pleiades
in what astronomers call an Occultation.

Partial Solar
Eciipse, Januar 2009 On the 26th January 2009 there
was a Partial Solar Eclipse visible from Western Australia.

Smiley Face
Conjunction On December 1st 2008 the Moon together
with planets Venus and Jupiter form a "smiley face" shape in the
sky. This grouping of objects is called a Conjunction.
