The spectacular Aurora Australis
are captured over a period of roughly 10 minutes in this
long exposure showing the Large Magellanic Cloud, Small
Magellanic Cloud, Southern Celestial Pole and the Aurora
Australis, taken in the Western Australian Wheatbelt.
Why are there no verticle Aurora bars shown? This is
in part an effect of the long exposure used to take this
shot, which results in a perfect smooth bright gradient
of Aurora from bottom to top of photograph.
The colour and clarity of this print are truly
stunning. The vibrant glow of the Aurora together with
the cool blue of the LMC and SMC with
silhouetted trees along the foreground make for
a very pleasing photographic print.
Award Winner! - This print won 1st place in the
category of "Wide field from an untracked platform" at
the Swan Star Party in April 2004. The print was 50cm x
33cm blcokmounted. The "1st place award winner" text
shown on the image above does not get printed on
the actual prints.
As with all our prints, these are true long lasting photographic prints, signed by the
photographer. The photograph is best framed behind glass and can also be easily block
mounted.
