This photograph is of a narrow field of view showing the Southern Cross (constellation of
Crux). The Coal Sack is also visible to the left of the Southern Cross. This image was
taken out in the dark skies of the Wheatbelt, Western Australia. Even on a cloudy night
you can often see the Milky Way and Southern Cross shining through the black clouds
drifting past. This photographic print of the Southern Cross makes a great astronomy
poster but alsowith the long life quality of a professional photograph.
