This is a photograph of the Total Lunar Eclipse that occured on the 16th June 2011, as visible from Perth Western Australia.
This print shows the moon in the moments prior to totality, when some of
the golden glow associated with the partial phases of the eclipse remain, but
the rich dark red is also visible from the onset of totality. This combination
makes the moon appear luminous and glowing like an ember. While not being
complete totality, this is arguably a more picturesque phase of a lunar eclipse.
As with all our prints these are of a high quality archival nature, lasting at least 80 years before noticable fading would occur. All prints are signed by the photographer, Roger Groom.
