This is a photograph of the Total Lunar Eclipse that occured on the 16th June 2011, as visible from Perth Western Australia.
The event was almost completely clouded out from Perth, WA, but a small gap in the clouds near totality allowed for some brief photography opportunitites. This print shows the spectacular dark red glow of the moon during totality, with surrounding stars as they appeared around the moon at the same time. Ordinarily stars would not be visible so close to the moon as the brightness of a full moon hides them, but with the Moon passing through Earth's shaddow during totality the stars are clearly visible.
Due to the recent nature of this event, prints will be ready for shipping from approximately the 27th June. Orders taken now will be filled at that time.
As with all our prints these are of a high quality archival nature, lasting at least 80 years before noticable fading would occur. All prints are signed by the photographer, Roger Groom.
