Eta Carina is a bright star which exploded part of it's gasses
to form the Eta Carina Nebula. This nebula (pictured above) is
now one of the most spectacular objects in the night sky, and
only visible south of 30 degrees lattitude. The nebula is
several times larger (visually) than the Orion Nebula, and is
easily visible to the naked eye under dark southern hemisphere
skies. This photograph shows a mid sized crop of Eta Carina,
having nice detail visible in the inner nebulosity while
containing enough of the outer regions of the nebula to show the
overall structure. Several brightly coloured stars also shine
from infront of the nebula.
As with all our photographs, prints of Eta Carina come
signed individually by the photographer and professionally
printed on archival stock.
