This image shows the entire constellation of Scorpius (otherwise referred to as Scorpio). Scorpius is one of the easiest constellations to distinguish in the dark country skies where the tail clearly twists across the background of the Milky Way galaxy.
Star colour has been retained in this image, resulting in a pleasing colourful image of the constellation. Dark dust lanes are also visible through the Milky Way.
